Overview

We are working with a well-established organisation in Northampton that is looking for a Financial Controller to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of a busy finance department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys managing a team, working with stakeholders, and ensuring strong financial controls.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, you will:

• Lead and support a small AP/AR and Accounts Assistants team.
• Produce monthly management reports, statutory accounts and maintain financial dashboards.
• Manage the annual business planning and budget process, working closely with budget holders.
• Assist with year-end close-down processes and the production of year-end group accounts.
• Review and document funding streams, ensuring compliance and transparency.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• A qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with experience managing a finance team.
• Experienced in financial reporting, month-end and year-end accounts.
• Confident working with non-finance stakeholders, explaining financial information clearly.
• Highly organised, able to work to deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.

Remuneration 

• Salary – £45,000 – c£50,000 depending on experience
• Monday to Friday – 37.5 hour week (office-based)
• 35 days holiday including statutory days
