Overview

We are delighted to be recruiting exclusively on behalf of our client, a well-established business based in a charming village location just outside of Daventry. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller looking for a hands-on role in a supportive and stable environment.

As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will work closely with the senior management team to support decision-making processes, offering financial insights and guidance. This role requires a proactive individual who enjoys the blend of detailed financial work and strategic input.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial accounting and reporting activities
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and relevant reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns
  • Processing monthly salaries and all associated returns
  • Liaising with HMRC relating to all statutory returns
  • Lead the audit process and liaise with external auditors
  • Manage and mentor a small finance team of two
  • Provide financial analysis and business insights to support strategic decisions
  • Work closely with the leadership team to drive financial performance

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, with proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role. Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in financial software and systems are essential. You will also need excellent communication and leadership abilities, a proactive and hands-on approach to financial management, as well as strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


Remuneration 

  • Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Hours 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) – 8:30am – 5pm (1 hour lunch)- flexibility
  • Hybrid
  • Pension Scheme
  • 25 days holiday– plus bank holidays.
