Overview

We are exclusively partnering with our Northamptonshire-based client to find a Finance Director for this newly created role. This hands-on position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of working closely with various business unit managers to provide meaningful analysis and interpretation that drives business growth.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the MD, you will lead all day-to-day accounting matters and work further to develop systems, processes, and the team. Your duties will include:

  • Ensuring timely and accurate preparation of management accounts.
  • Overseeing multiple bank accounts, including foreign currencies, managing weekly/monthly payments, debtor analysis, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT and statutory returns.
  • Managing the preparation and processing of monthly salaries.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of intercompany data.
  • Presenting financial reports to the Senior Management Team (SMT).
  • Handling various concurrent projects alongside day-to-day duties.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be ACCA, CIMA, or ACA qualified and have experience either at the Finance Director level or looking to step into their first FD role within an SME.

Key skills include:

  • Strong influencing abilities.
  • Capability to maintain a high-level strategic view while being detail oriented.
  • Hands-on experience in producing management accounts.

Remuneration 

Salary: £70,000 – £78,000 per annum, depending on experience  

Other Benefits: Bonus (15%), Pension, PHI

Hours: 37.5 per week – Office based

Holidays: 25 days plus statutory days  

Pension: In line with auto-enrolment

This position is commutable from Northampton, Kettering, Wellingborough, Corby, Daventry, Rushden, Bedford, and Milton Keynes.
