Are you an outgoing, confident communicator who thrives on building strong relationships and delivering results? We’re seeking a Credit Controller to join a friendly, busy team in Kettering, working within the retail sector.

In this role, you’ll be integral to ensuring the financial health of the business by managing customer accounts, driving cash flow, and providing exceptional customer service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • Cash Allocation: Accurately allocate payments to customer accounts.
  • Debtor Reports: Prepare and manage regular debtor reports to ensure visibility of outstanding balances.
  • Credit Control: Proactively chase overdue payments by phone and follow-up via email, ensuring timely resolution of queries.
  • Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service, maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Systems Proficiency: Utilise Excel and company systems effectively for reporting and account management.
  • Support Finance Team: Assist with credit checks and ad hoc administrative tasks as needed.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in credit control.
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Confident and professional communication skills – comfortable picking up the phone to chase monies due and resolve issues.
  • A team player with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using financial systems and a willingness to learn new tools.

Remuneration 

  • Salary: £26,000 – circa£28,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Holidays: 23 days holiday + statutory bank holidays.
