Overview

We are working exclusively with our client, who is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team in this newly created role. This is an exciting position, and over time, you will have the opportunity to cover all areas of finance. This role would suit an individual who is driven, passionate about numbers and wants to carve a career within finance. You will be joining an established team of like-minded individuals and have an excellent mentor.


Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase invoices, including coding, reconciliations, and payment runs.
  • Reconciliation of EPOS transactions and bank reconciliations.
  • Assisting with account relocations and analysis.
  • Assisting with the preparation of accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Reconciliation of expenses and associated coding.
  • Assisting with the budget process, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adhoc projects and analysis as required.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be studying AAT, CIMA, or ACCA, have previous experience within a busy accounting department, and be able to handle large volumes of data. Intermediate Excel is essential. They will enjoy working in a busy, fun environment, have excellent written and verbal skills, and have the ability to liaise at all levels within an organisation.

The role is based on the outskirts of Brackley and within commutable distance of Buckingham, Banbury, Milton Keynes, Daventry, Northampton, and Towcester. However, it is not accessible by public transport.


Remuneration 

Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week – Hybrid working

Holidays: 25 days holiday + statutory bank holidays

Other: Study Support, pension, free parking
