Overview

We are delighted to be working exclusively with a highly respected service provider based in Brackmills, Northampton, to assist them in finding a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to a well-established, forward-thinking organisation.

As Finance Manager, you will report to the FD and take responsibility for a finance team of 4.


Key Responsibilities

  • All aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
  • Taking ownership of the month-end and year-end processes.
  • Preparing management accounts, for review with the FD to support board-level decision-making.
  • Leading and mentoring a small finance team, ensuring efficient financial operations and ongoing development of team members.
  • Working closely with other departments to create budgets and forecasts, offering advice and guidance to help them achieve their targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and company policies, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant changes.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as enhancing internal financial controls, refining reporting processes, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Supporting the Finance Director in shaping the financial strategy of the business and helping identify areas for growth and investment.

The Candidate

Our client is looking for a candidate with:

  • A solid background in finance management, ideally within a service-based industry.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a small team, with strong technical accounting.
  • An analytical mind with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • A hands-on approach, willing to “get stuck in” with the day-to-day operations while also keeping an eye on the bigger picture.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues across the business, from finance team members to senior management.
  • Relevant accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.

Remuneration 

  • Salary £48,000 – £55,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Hours of work 8.00 am – 5.00 pm – Office based
  • 24 days holiday + statutory bank holidays
  • Pension, On-site parking
