Overview

Debbie Burbage Recruitment are working with our Northampton based client, in their search for a Purchase Ledger Clerk. This is a hands-on role, and an exciting opportunity for a diligent, results focused and  and detail-oriented individual.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up new suppliers and code/post invoices.
  • Ensure invoices are authorised before payment.
  • Liaise with suppliers and produce weekly/monthly payment runs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly.
  • Report on aged creditors.
  • Process and monitor business expenses.
  • Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled, and payments allocated.
  • Year-end analysis and assist with supplying audit information.
  • Ensure parties required have relevant signed agreements and submitted documentation.
  • Order fuel, maintain fuel card accounts, and produce weekly fuel reports and stock journals.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience working in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, possess strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Take responsibility, be results focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Possess strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset

Remuneration 

  • Salary £25,000 – £27,500 per annum depending on experience
  • Hours of work 8.30 am – 5.00 pm with 1 hour for lunch
  • 22 days holiday + statutory bank holidays
  • Pension, On-site parking
